USDA awards $23 million ReConnect grant to Utah Broadband for rural fiber expansion

On 2026-05-07, Utah Broadband was awarded nearly $23 million through the USDA ReConnect Loan and Grant Program to expand rural fiber broadband in northern Utah. The project will build 315 miles of new fiber-optic infrastructure and provide 10/10 Gbps service to more than 3,000 homes, businesses, farms, and community anchor institutions across Cache, Summit, Utah, and Wasatch counties.
