On 2026-05-07, Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks announced more than $33 million in federal funding for six water infrastructure-related projects across Maryland. The package includes water infrastructure improvements, navigational safety work in the Chesapeake Bay around the Port of Baltimore, beach replenishment in Ocean City, and a study of alternatives for a secondary water source for the Washington region.
