US forces attack Iranian-flagged cargo tanker with no load

On 2026-05-07, U.S. forces attacked and disabled the Iranian-flagged tanker Hasna as it was sailing toward an Iranian port in international waters in the Gulf of Oman. According to U.S. Central Command, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 from the USS Abraham Lincoln fired several 20mm rounds that disabled the vessel's rudder after repeated warnings were ignored. No fatalities were reported.
