Union County women accused of scamming 85-year-old man out of $25,000

On 2026-05-06, Union County sheriff’s deputies in North Carolina said they arrested Sylvia Marks and Brittany Nicholas after investigating allegations that they scammed an 85-year-old man out of about $25,000 and stole items from his home. Deputies said the case began with a trespassing call and that the suspects were now in jail.
