On 2026-04-27, Oregon Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden and U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle announced $11.25 million in federal funds for the Pacific Coast Intermodal Port Terminal Connection Project at the Port of Coos Bay. The grant will support triplicate track and a run-around section on the North Spit to improve rail operations and the movement of goods into and out of the port.
