Sweden cuts fuel taxes further as energy prices soar

On 2026-05-13, Sweden's government said it would temporarily cut fuel taxes to counter rising fuel prices linked to the war in the Middle East. The proposed cut was 2.4 kronor per litre and was included in a 17.5 billion kronor crisis package. The measure was scheduled to run from July 1 to November 30.
