Exxon and QatarEnergy sign MoU with Egypt to study Cyprus gas development

On 2026-05-21, QatarEnergy signed a memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian government and Exxon Mobil to study potential development and commercialization of Cyprus gas discoveries through Egypt's existing natural gas infrastructure. The preliminary agreement concerns cross-border gas development and infrastructure use, with Exxon also involved in the study.
