Taiwan slams Beijing for blocking its World Health Assembly participation

On 2026-05-14, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Deputy Director Chang Chih-sha, criticized China at a weekly briefing in Taipei over Beijing's move to block Taiwan's participation in the World Health Assembly. Chang said the People's Republic of China had no authority to represent Taiwan in UN-linked bodies and urged the WHO Secretariat to stay neutral.
