Survivors Law passes in New South Wales, exposing abusers’ assets to victims

On 2026-05-15, the Parliament of New South Wales passed the Survivors Law, amending taxation and bankruptcy rules so victims and survivors of child sexual abuse can access perpetrators' superannuation and compensation debts are not wiped out by bankruptcy. The law was presented as closing loopholes that had blocked compensation payments to victims.
