Adif signs with Mermec for track-inspection railcar for Spain narrow-gauge network

On 2026-05-07, Spain's infrastructure manager Adif ordered a €14.1m custom track inspection railcar from MerMec España for use on the country's metre-gauge network in the north. The contract also includes installation of safety, communications and monitoring systems and five years of maintenance. The purchase is part of a broader inspection fleet expansion for the rail network.
