Louisiana GOP approves new congressional maps after hearing, 5-1 vote

On 2026-05-13, the Louisiana Senate & Governmental Affairs Committee approved Sen. Jay Morris's amended congressional map in Baton Rouge after more than nine hours of testimony. The committee vote was reported as 5-1 and advanced the map toward final legislative consideration.
