On 2026-05-07, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz signed a bill restricting AI-generated intimate images, according to the governor’s office. The law prohibits websites, apps, and other services from allowing users to create or download fake, non-consensual intimate images of identifiable people and takes effect August 1, 2026.
