Richland County voters approve solar and wind farm ban in 11 townships

On 2026-05-06, Richland County voters approved a ban on the development of large solar and wind farms in 11 of the county's 18 townships. The measure passed with less than 53% of the vote and formalized local restrictions on renewable energy projects in unincorporated areas.
