On 2026-05-07, heavily armed militants attacked Tangkhul Naga villages in Kamjong district near the India-Myanmar border, torching houses and forcing residents to flee into nearby forests. Police said the attack hit Namlee, Wanglee and Choro in the Kasom Khullen police station area around 4 a.m. At least one elderly woman was reportedly injured while escaping.
