UniCredit agrees to sell parts of Russian bank to UAE investor

On 2026-05-07, UniCredit said it had reached a nonbinding deal to sell parts of its Russian bank to a private investor in the United Arab Emirates. The Milan-based lender said it would retain only its payments business in Russia, with the transaction still subject to approvals including Kremlin authorization.
