Singapore MND says government agencies' fees are legal even if not in law

On 2026-05-13, Singapore's Ministry of National Development said the fees charged by four government agencies for services such as expediting building inspections were legal and properly collected. The ministry said the new law passed in Parliament last week was intended to put the legal position beyond doubt and provide greater clarity for future transactions.
