Chief Justice Zeija pushes ADR reforms, sets 60-day mediation limit

On 2026-05-06, Uganda Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija opened an ADR training programme at the Supreme Court Conference Hall in Kampala and called for a stronger shift toward alternative dispute resolution. He announced reforms including a mandatory 60-day mediation timeframe and enforceable settlement agreements under the new court-annexed mediation rules.
