On 2026-05-05, Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar accepted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan鈥檚 resignation in Thiruvananthapuram after the Congress-led UDF won the state assembly election. Raj Bhavan also asked Vijayan to continue until a new government is sworn in and alternate arrangements are made.
