Supreme Court modifies NCERT book order involving 3 academics

On 2026-05-22, the Supreme Court of India in New Delhi modified its earlier March 11 order in the NCERT textbook row involving three academics. The bench left it open to the Centre, states, Union territories, public universities and government-funded institutions to independently decide whether to engage with the academics, and recalled its earlier harsh observations.
