China pledges to help develop OCCCM into open, inclusive cooperation platform

On 2026-05-09, China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment vice minister Li Gao said China was ready to work with all parties to develop the Open Coalition on Compliance Carbon Market into an open, inclusive, pragmatic and efficient platform for international cooperation on carbon markets. He made the remarks at the first high-level OCCCM meeting in Florence, Italy, and also said China would share its carbon market practices with the international community.
