Indonesia’s Human Rights Minister submits Indigenous Peoples bill to DPR

On 2026-05-21, Indonesia's Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, said the Indigenous Peoples bill had been formally submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR). He said the draft was prepared together with indigenous communities and aims to strengthen recognition, protection, and preservation of indigenous peoples' rights in Indonesia. The remarks were made in Bandung, West Java.
