Paraguay President meets Taiwan officials as China demands ties cut

On 2026-05-07, Taiwan received Paraguayan President Santiago Peña and his delegation in Taipei, where Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung welcomed them at the start of a commercial and bilateral agenda. The visit also set up a meeting with President Lai Ching-te and the signing of cooperation documents.
