Nationwide recall of seasoning products over possible salmonella contamination

On 2026-05-14, JCB Flavors initiated a voluntary nationwide recall of its Popping Topping – Sour Cream & Onion seasoning after FDA-linked ingredient testing indicated possible salmonella contamination in a milk powder ingredient. The company said third-party testing did not confirm salmonella in the finished product, but it recalled the seasoning out of caution and advised consumers not to use it.
