Brazil seeks to reverse EU veto on animal protection rules from September

On 2026-05-12, the Brazilian government said it would negotiate with the European Union to try to reverse restrictions on exports of animal products. Agriculture Minister André de Paula said Brazil wants to return to the approved-export list and continue supplying the EU market before the measures take effect on September 3.
