Truck oil leak spills along 30-km stretch between western Saskatchewan and Alberta

On 2026-05-08, a transport truck leaked about 20 cubic metres of crude oil along a roughly 30-kilometre stretch of Highway 14 between Macklin, Saskatchewan, and Provost, Alberta. Local fire crews and RCMP responded to close the road and sand the surface to reduce crash risk. The highway remained open after the response, but cleanup was expected to take time.
