Newfoundland and Labrador MHAs unanimously back review of youth social media ban

On 2026-05-21, members of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly unanimously backed a private members’ resolution introduced by Liberal Leader John Hogan. The motion urged the provincial government to examine legislative and regulatory changes to restrict or prohibit social media access for children under 16 and to consult stakeholders on child safety online.
