Dalit Congress leaders meet Mayawati and receive BSP party notice in UP

On 2026-05-20, the Indian National Congress issued show-cause notices to its Dalit leaders Rajendra Paul Gautam and Tanuj Punia after their unscheduled visit to BSP chief Mayawati's residence in Lucknow. The party said the visit was not authorised and that the leaders had acted in their individual capacity.
