China’s PLA patrols in waters and airspace around Taiwan

On 2026-05-07, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reported that 22 PLA aircraft sorties, 6 PLAN ships, and 1 official ship were detected around Taiwan during the previous 24 hours. It said 18 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's ADIZ, and that ROC forces monitored and responded with combat air patrol aircraft, navy ships, and coastal missile systems. No casualties were reported.
