China urges US to handle Taiwan issue with utmost caution

On 2026-05-21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun urged the United States to handle the Taiwan issue with utmost caution and to implement the understandings reached at the recent China-US summit. He also said China opposes official US-Taiwan exchanges and US arms sales to Taiwan, and called on Washington to stop sending the wrong signals to Taiwan separatist forces.
