China expresses concern over U.S. interception of ship bound for Iranian port

On 2026-04-20, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun expressed concern over the U.S. interception of a vessel reportedly heading toward an Iranian port. He said the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is sensitive and called for responsible action to avoid escalating tensions and restore normal passage through the strait.
