ADB pledges $70 billion for energy and digital connectivity in Asia-Pacific

On 2026-05-03, the Asian Development Bank said it will commit up to $70 billion by 2035 to two regional infrastructure initiatives: the Pan-Asia Power Grid Initiative and the Asia-Pacific Digital Highway. The plan aims to integrate power grids, expand cross-border electricity trade, and strengthen broadband access across the Asia-Pacific, announced at the ADB annual meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
