William W. Mercer

William Walter "Bill" Mercer is an American attorney and politician serving as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Montana. He served as a member of the Montana House of Representatives from 2019 to 2025. He previously served as the United States attorney for the District of Montana, as well as principal associate deputy attorney general for the United States Department of Justice. Mercer served as acting associate attorney general under President George W. Bush. He resigned before his confirmation hearing could take place.
