Wen Jiabao
Wen Jiabao is a retired Chinese politician who served as the 6th Premier of China from 2003 to 2013. Wen worked as the director of the General Office of the Chinese Communist Party between 1986 and 1993, and accompanied Zhao Ziyang to Tiananmen Square during the 1989 protests as his personal secretary. In 1998, Wen was promoted to the post of Vice Premier under his mentor Zhu Rongji. As premier, Wen shifted policy away from coastal, export-driven growth toward easing burdens on farmers and migrant workers, including agricutural tax reductions and large-scale infrastructure spending. Following the 2008 financial crisis, his government launched a four trillion yuan stimulus program.
