Val Applewhite

Val Applewhite is an American politician who has served as a member of the North Carolina Senate since January 1, 2023. A Democrat from Fayetteville, she represents the 19th district. She was first elected to the Senate in 2022, defeating incumbent Senator Kirk deViere in the Democratic primary. Applewhite is a retired United States Air Force veteran. She is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and Strayer University.
