Surya Kant is an Indian judge who is serving as the 53rd Chief Justice of India from 24 November 2025. Prior to his elevation as judge, Kant was a Senior Advocate and also served as the Advocate General for Haryana. He is also the visitor of National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi. Furthermore, he is the ex officio patron-in-chief of National Legal Services Authority.
