Farah, or Farrah, is a feminine given name of Arabic and Persian, also used in several other cultures. It means happiness in Arabic. It gained popularity in the Anglosphere due to its association with the American celebrities Farrah Fawcett (1947–2009) and Farrah Abraham ; the name Farrah ranked among the top 1,000 names for newborn girls in the United States between 1976–1980, between 1987–1988, and again between 2010–2016.
