Dennis Richardson

Dennis James Richardson is an Australian retired public servant and diplomat who served as the Secretary of the Department of Defence from 2012 to 2017 and Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs from 2010 to 2012. He was previously the 10th Director-General of Security from 1996 to 2005 and the 19th Ambassador of Australia to the United States of America from 2005 to 2010. Richardson was appointed to lead a review into Australia's law enforcement and intelligence agencies in late 2025.
