A Teachta Dála, abbreviated as TD, is a member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas, the parliament of Ireland. The official English translation of the term is "Dáil deputy". An equivalent position would be a member of Parliament (MP) in the UK or a member of Congress in the US.
