Waterbury, Connecticut budget sets aside $7 million for water infrastructure upgrades

On 2026-04-03, Waterbury’s city government set aside more than $7 million in its proposed budget for water line and valve upgrades after a catastrophic December water main break left tens of thousands without running water for five days. The city said crews would begin work on Huntingdon Avenue to reduce the risk of another systemwide shutdown.
