Mumbai rolls out 'aspirational' toilets at key city hotspots

On 2026-04-08, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation rolled out seven premium pay-and-use public toilets at high-footfall sites in South Mumbai, including Banganga Tank, Walkeshwar Temple, Fashion Street, and Colaba. The city also said it plans to add 67 more such facilities across the suburbs over the next year. The project is a municipal sanitation infrastructure buildout rather than a disruption event.
