On 2026-04-10, Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh inspected ongoing desilting work at the Delhi Gate drain and the Barapulla drain in New Delhi. The pre-monsoon flood-control effort had removed over 14 lakh tonnes of silt, with the Delhi Gate drain reportedly more than 70% desilted to reduce waterlogging.
