Houghton to replace some water and wastewater lines in Michigan

On 2026-04-24, the City of Houghton awarded a nearly $2.7 million construction bid and adopted a bond ordinance to finance water and wastewater system improvements. The project will replace some of the city's oldest water and sewer lines along East Houghton Avenue and East South Avenue. City officials said work could begin as early as late summer and finish by the end of the 2027 construction season.
