Mountain View residents advised not to use water after water main issue

On 2026-04-28, Mountain View officials said more than 60 residents remained under a do-not-use advisory after a water main project went wrong and cement slurry entered the neighborhood water supply. The city said tests had shown possible coliform contamination and that flushing, sampling, and bottled water support were underway while regulators determined when the water would be safe again.
