NamWater plans dam to supply Haib mining project with water

On 2026-04-11, NamWater said it was seeking environmental clearance to develop a large off-channel storage dam and related abstraction and pipeline infrastructure to supply water to Koryx Copper's proposed Haib mining project in Namibia's ||Kharas region. The proposal includes a dam of up to 25 million cubic metres, two pipeline route options, and supporting pump stations, roads, and transmission lines.
