Court bars Nigeria’s INEC from recognizing ADC state congresses

On 2026-04-29, the Federal High Court in Abuja barred Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission from recognising or participating in any congress organised by the disputed leadership of the African Democratic Congress. The court also set aside the appointment of a congress committee and restrained former Senate President David Mark and other party figures from acting outside the party constitution.
