Tanzania cancels 40 mineral exploration licenses

On 2026-04-15, Tanzania's Minister of Minerals directed the Minerals Commission to cancel 40 mineral exploration licenses in Dodoma. The government said the licenses were revoked because holders failed to develop them and that the blocks would be reallocated to small-scale miners, investors, and women and youth groups through the MBT program.
