Egypt signs $500 million Harmattan gas deal to boost Mediterranean output

On 2026-04-08, Egypt signed a $500 million agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Arcius Energy to develop the Harmattan gas field in the Mediterranean. The deal was announced by Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and is intended to boost domestic gas output and reduce supply gaps, with production expected to reach 150 MMcf/d and 3,300 barrels of condensates per day by 2028.
