Mexican President considers sanctions on Chihuahua over CIA drug lab operation

On 2026-04-22, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in Mexico City that she is considering possible sanctions against the government of Chihuahua over its approval of CIA agents participating in a drug-lab dismantling operation. She said any security collaboration with the United States must be approved by Mexico's federal government and also planned to speak with Chihuahua Gov. María Eugenia Campos.
