On 2026-04-12, Kenya concluded public consultations on the Draft Virtual Asset Service Providers Regulations, 2026, moving closer to a formal licensing and supervision regime for cryptocurrency and other virtual asset businesses. The framework is intended to operationalize the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025 and adds cybersecurity, reporting, audit, and insurance requirements.
