IBM strikes $17 million deal to end federal DEI investigation

On 2026-04-15, the United States Department of Justice announced a settlement agreement with IBM under which the company will pay more than $17 million to resolve allegations that its DEI programs violated federal antidiscrimination requirements for contractors. The deal ended the DOJ probe into IBM's practices under the False Claims Act and Title VII allegations. The action was announced by the DOJ in Washington, DC.
